This plant produces DMT. A competitor made a very cheap offer for the treatment of water of which Innowac could not meet the cost per year.

After a few months the plant manager contacted us and requested us to take over the treatment of the plant. We noted heavy microbiological growth in the cooling tower as illustrated above. The whole system was contaminated with algae, bacteria and fungi of which the corrosion rate rose up from 0.01 mm / year to 0.35 mm/year.

Innowac Recommendation:

We recommended an online clean up for the whole system. We dosed for one m³ of cycle water, 1 litre of Innoclean 1100, and reduced the pH water to 4 - 5. We started our biocide Innowac DK-DOX as shock treatment to kill the bacteria. Innowac DK-DOX is a solution with 3 g / litre ClO2, that doesn’t produced AOX like sodium hypochlorite. After 2 weeks we changed to the normal treatment.

After 14 days, there is reduced slime on the same coupon illustrated.
